Eddy current inspection of pipes is to quantify the pipe wall thickness by applying exciting electromagnetic field to the metal pipe wall and inspection the intensity of induced electromagnetic field through the inspection tools based on the principle of electromagnetic mutual inductance. This inspection method can identify the dents on the internal and external surfaces of the pipe and the interlayer, and also has the inspection capability for stainless steel pipes and bimetal composite pipes.
