In-line inspection tools usually adopts independent inspection method, which is divided into geometry tool and MFL tool. For some pipelines in good condition, when the geometry tool is used to confirm that the pipeline condition does not exceed the limit deformation, the geometry and MFL inspection methods can be combined. The combo tools also can be equipped with IMU to map the pipeline centerline and realize multi-function integration to reduce the cost. The most important thing is that the in-line inspection combo tool can collect the data of corrosion defects at the position of the pipe deformation. At the same time, the inspection of defects and deformation is conducive to better evaluation of defects and risk prevention.
